She dug her heels into the sand, the sun on the verge of peeking through the horizon; all thoughts rushed back to then. The first time she felt complete. A single tear ran down her cheek as the waves breaking on the shore. In the distance, the calls of the seagulls taking their morning due, and the silhouette of a lone surfer paddling out to sea. Picking at her bottom lip with gentle nips from her teeth, she watched as he disappeared. With a sudden buckle of her knees, she felt the panic, the loss, and she was alone once again.
