She screamed, clutching her chest in agony. Why does it hurt? She asked, afraid to know the truth. Nails digging into her flesh, she clawed her way into the cavity filled with sorrow, wrapping her fingers around the source of her destruction. Gentle beats as she caressed the object. They soothed the beast that claimed her peace. Delicate strokes of her fingers, she whispered sweet nothings as she placed it against her cheek. She held her heart close to her lips, the words murmured against the flesh. “I love you forever, and I promise never to allow anyone to hurt you again.”
